“He’s a
blur. I haven’t seen anything like this before, in fact I still haven’t seen
it.” Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow come
together for another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie which is just as good as
the previous ones. Exuberant and eye-popping, Avengers: Age of Ultron serves as
a satisfying sequel, reuniting its predecessor's cast with a few new additions
and a “worthy” foe.
The Avengers are fighting their way into a Hydra Base to retrieve Loki’s Scepter. This is where they first encounter the Maximoff twins, the lightning fast Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
The villain, Ultron is probably the most
humorous villain after the “Joker”
but Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is still missed.
Ultron is the result of an experiment by Tony Stark to create an Artificial
Intelligence Program gone ridiculously wrong. In this case, they create a maniacal
metallic robot: Ultron (voiced by James Spander). He is programmed to keep “Peace in our time” and he
believes the beginning of world peace lies in mankind's end. He wants to begin
humanity's destruction by first killing off Avengers and Iron Man in
particular.
The fight between Ultron and the Avengers takes
place all across the globe in elaborate set pieces and well-executed CGI. We also get to see the Hulk Buster in action as Iron Man and
Hulk are having a city-levelling fight! Especially remarkable is the
climactic battle, the faceoff between “all
of Ultron” and the Avengers which is pure adrenaline.
It is advisable to brush up your Marvel
Avengers history otherwise it’s going to be tough to grasp. The storyline is a
bit disconnected in itself, with fighting and cameos containing old memories of
the heroes, all thrown into the movie together. But the movie is still a
fitting sequel (maybe even better); so don’t worry Marvel Fans.
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) plays the role of
being the most knowledgeable person for galactic things. Iron Man (Robert
Downey) brings his witty self into play again, throwing wisecracks here and
there but he faces stiff competition from Ultron. Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) still has
anger-management issues. Captain America (Chris Evans) is again the “righteous
man”.
Avengers Age of Ultron with its charismatic cast,
earth-shattering action and special effects essentially packs a complete
entertainment.
